Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Is landscape curbing new, and does it last?

A: No, landscape curbing has been around for over 15 years. When professionally installed with quality materials, it provides a long-lasting, low-maintenance edging solution.

Q: How deep do you dig, and what’s under the curbing?

A: We dig about 1-2 inches deep and 10 inches wide using a sod cutter, ensuring the base is compact and level. If needed, we add a layer of sand for stability.

Q: What about frost and ground movement?

A: Our curbing is installed as one continuous piece, minimizing movement. We use high-strength concrete with fiber mesh reinforcement and cut control joints every 3 feet to control cracking.

Q: Is the color painted on?

A: No, we mix iron oxide pigments into the concrete, so the color won’t flake off. An acrylic sealer is applied to protect the color, which may fade slightly over time.

Q: Will the curbing crack?

A: All concrete can crack. We minimize this with control joints. If a crack occurs outside of a joint, we’ll repair it.

Q: Are there design limitations?

A: No. Our curbing machine is highly maneuverable, allowing for curves, circles, and straight lines to fit any design.

Q: Does the curb prevent grass from growing into flower beds?

A: Yes. The continuous design prevents grass from growing through or under the curb. We offer various mold shapes that are wide and high enough to block sod growth.

Q: Will this damage my lawn or beds? How can I prepare?

A: There’s no damage to your landscape. We recommend having your sod, flowerbeds, and sprinklers installed before our arrival. We use a sod cutter to create smooth lines for the curbing.

Q: Can pets or children damage the curb?

A: The curb is vulnerable for the first 24-48 hours, so keep pets and children away during this time. After it cures, it’s strong enough to withstand normal activity.

Q: Is it affordable?

A: Yes! Our professionally installed curbing is comparable in price to DIY blocks but offers better durability and a more polished look.
